Photo of the day

Times have certainly changed

One year ago I was working part-time and wondering if I would have a job at the end of the month.
Two years ago I was FUNemployed and enjoying being a stay at home mom.
Three years ago I was pregnant, traveling all the time for work, and generally stressed out as hell.
Four years ago I was on a cruise with 101 of our friends.
Five years ago I was living in Washington DC and miserable out of my fucking mind.
Six years ago I was working at Global Knowledge on the inside sales team, and not really caring about much of anything.
Seven years ago I was pregnant was Brier and was coping with the immediate fallout of my sisters death.
Eight years ago we had just bought our house and were beginning construction and the start of our married life.
Nine years ago I was newly engaged.
Ten years ago I was young and hot (I kid, I kid) and in the beginning stages of a relationship with a guy who turned out to be a loser.

Life changes in an instant.  I wonder what my next ten years will hold?

I need to be here

I need a mental break.  I need some relaxation and I need some time to sort things out in my head.  In essence, I need a beach day.

Song lyrics of the day

No we don't have to dance
in perfect present tense
And I want my own parade
Golden streets and pearly gates

-"Chemical dependency", Patrick Rock Band

Thought for the day

On that note, currently on my nightstand you will find: 1) the Idiots Guide to Project Management, 2) Project Management Essentials, 3) Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover, 4) This is Why You're Fat, and 5) Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

I think I'm somehow missing the point of this picture.  Any suggested reading that will make me look better?  haha

Grrrrr

I'm in an incredibly foul mood this morning.  I'm hovering somewhere between anger and feeling sorry for myself, and no matter what I do, I can't change it.  UGH.

My VERY favorite thing on earth:

Song lyrics of the day

If I could only find the note to make you understand
I'd sing it softly in your ear and take you by the hands
To keep me stuck inside your head, like your favorite tune
And know my heart's a stereo that only plays for you

-"Stereo Hearts", Gym Class Heroes

An Irish Blessing

May there always be work
for your hands to do;

May your purse
always hold a coin or two;

May the sun always shine
on your windowpane;

May a rainbow be certain
to follow each rain;

May the hand of a friend
always be near you;

May God fill your heart
with gladness to cheer you.

and may you be in heaven
a half hour
before the devil
knows you're dead.

True story

Sometimes...

Day 22 - where you work

I work at home, in my home office.  And it looks like I've been robbed or a bomb went off.  It's looked like this for at least a month.  Ugh... I need a day off just to clean it...
